Chan's Buffet

They closed down..oh no...best chinese take out in town! We were spoiled. I ordered from another chinese place and the food was terrible...no comparison to Chan's. Please come back.

for the ungrateful people complaining u should b thankful that there are buffet restaurants that cater to your cheap stingey scrooges out there. u want a five star meal for 5 bucks? i dont think so... dont b so tight on the wallet n u can go to the mandarin, problem solved!

Chans buffet needs a proper telephone number for people to call

Took our 2 1/2 year old. They charged $ 4.99 but they don't even have anything suitable for kids to eat there. My son ate couple french fries and whip cream. If they are gonna charge for children then they should at least have children food like grilled cheese, chicken nuggets etc. Wasn't even finished my food and the waiter came and took the plate out from under my face. I was just sitting there for a minute, he didn't even ask if i was done, he just took it.

I have to say i'm VERY disappointed in both the food and the service (if you want to even call it that). My boyfriend and I went there around 830pm one night, the food was old and honestly disgusting. Imagine going to a buffet and only eating 1 plate!?! I didnt even finish the plate, the food was so old and gross. Being the nice people we are, we still paid for our meals costing $33.00 and did not tip. Our server did nothing but bring us water and looked miserable doing just that. As we proceeded to walk out, our server yells out no tip for your server in front of everyone who was eating there. (Not that it was full or anything, about 4 other tables). We didnt say anything, and he yells it out again. Your kidding me right!?! Who in there right mind has the gall to be so bold as to ASK/DEMAND a tip!! I turned around I told him that the food and service sucked, and that hes lucky we even paid for this meal (if you want to call it that). He started being to my boyfriend and I approached another waiter expecting him to help out our situation, I asked him to kindly give me the name of the waiter who was being extremely rude to my boyfriend. Instead he ignores me and acts as if I wasnt there at all. My boyfriend was extremely offended as was I. To make a long story short, the food is disgusting and the service is even more disgusting. This restaurant will never prosper and i highly recommend NOT WASTING YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

You get what you pay for. Service was poor and I felt very nauseous an hour after I ate there. Chicken fried rice smelt and tasted burnt and walking past the meats at the hot plate i got a wiff of something sour. The spring rolls tasted as if it was stored in a refrigerator for too long, however the fried chicken wings was tasty and the Belgian waffles were oh so soft on the inside. Washroom needs updating, there were dark areas and doors to stalls that do not lock, as well as a door that could not unlock, when I walked in I saw a young girl trying to squeeze her way out from under the door to the stall. I will not be returning.

buffet is alrite. i went in there many times, i find their servers are bunch of weiredos, one day they seem to be treat customer ok, somedays they can be route, i walked in there little late night, they were almost end of the buffet and they were not too many choices. so i said i want to do see the buffet before i eat, they were like you have to pay the full price of what ever the left out they have and they told me they not cooking anything fresh. so there was little food and wanted to charge me full, not fair..........

Food was ok for price.....but service was minimal. They did not clear the used plates from the tables efficiently, and if you wanted water....they give TAP water ( yuck).
Not to mention there was a white lady that Harassed you for a BIG tip after giving you the bill! Why give a tip for Minimal service? Overall...the experience was ok I guess.

With miminal service they DEMAND large tip,why,that's not right,I will not be
going there ever again.There not much choice for d varity !so why DEMAND!

good price with good food and big buffet,it is worth for every penny you spend there.Lunch buffet is only $8.50 and dinner buffet is only at $12.99, just try it out and you will enjoy it very much.

I have been to Chan's and the service is minimal. They did not remove the plates promptly and the waitress left the pitcher at the table and there was only two of us. There water was cold and that was a good thing but the food was not being refilled on time so limited dishes. You also can't pay with debit unless you use the machine that they own. They also kept insisting that we give a tip. Who does that when they aren't doing anything proper for that tip. Come on now.

They are racist they made us pay before we started eating and while that they did not pick up our plates while we ate. When I asked for a pitch of coke they ask me to put it on the table stupid service. We got that service because we were teens just celebrating going away party.

- Food Not gourmet but fair buffet style food but they can really work on serving more varieties.
- Service When I took my cousins (all in mid to late 20s) for dinner at this place, the server demanded that I pay up front with tips. Apparently, we didn't look responsible enough to pay for the meal. Even after paying up front, they didn't bother to clear out the plates until we had good number of stacks of plates left on our table.
- Atmosphere they definitely need to renovate that place.

food is mediocre but the service is horrible. The place is in dire need of renovations, but its the service thats disgusting. Waiters act like they deserve more after you tip them, when in reality they owe me.

Went to Chan's with my family, The greeter took us to our table where we were greeted by a roches. My husband noticed them and said we were leaving. I was confused as we just arrived, Until I looked down. The roach was on the napkin under the fork. The waiter took the fork off the table (the critter ran away) grabbed another fork and started to pull out my husbands chair to sit him back down to eat as if everything was ok!!! Are you kidding me???
I WILL NEVER EVER EAT THERE AGAIN...

Went their on Saturday night it was the worst food and service ever, they do not clean their shrimp so you are eating the veins and the shit of them, disgusting.I told the manager and said thats how they cook them and was very very rude. Will never go back if my life depended on it. I should have known looking at the decor and the staff. DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!!!!!!!

The food is not the best, but for $7 bucks you cannot go wrong.

I usually go to chans with my family for the most part there okay..one time i went for my birthday with my friends, us all being teenagers and black the service was horrible..the hostest insited we paid before we sat down..i tried to explain to her that not all my guests were here and we were all paying our own way so we didnt have all the money..it became quite the arguement before she seated us..while there the waiters were very rude barely to see how we were, walked by and gave rude looks all the time..the food was good nothing special but for that price you can't go wrong..i would recomend people to go to chans with their family but not with a group of teens or there will be a problem.

I went to Chans with my family today and was very happy to spend quality time with them. I was asked to get the table as I was the first to arrive. I walk in and said hello to the host, she looks at me and rolls her eyes. So, I said to her I said hello to you are you not going to say hello to me? She rolls her eye again and said table for how many? She was the rudest greeter I have ever met. My brother and I served our selves orange chicken seeing it was one of our favorites, only he had a surprise in his. He bit into a piece of orange chicken that was filled with a mysterious looking meat. It wasnt white like it should be, but dark and filled with what looks to be blood. I called the wait right away (his name was luck- that is what it said on his name tag) he took it apologized and threw it some where. He called the manager right away. That is where I complained about the hostess and ask for the manager to look at the meat that was taken from me. The manager said it doesnt matter he does not need to see it and said he would check out the batch of orange chicken. I did not continue to eat my meal and the manger did not offer any form of compensation to our table. Lastly, when they brought the bill there were no fortunes in our cookies. As I left luck asked if I would come back and I shook my head no.

Went there on a thurday afternoon, and the guys from PCO Pest Control were just leaving the lot.
No other restaurant in the mall, so it had to be Chan's.
NOT a good sign, but checked it out anyhow...
Must not be paying the staff much, as they were all pretty surly, and didn't seem to care if you stayed or left.
Seems they like the old folks who do the take out more, since I saw a few come and go in a few minits and nothing to cleanup after.
I asked one old couple outside what they thought of the place, and they said

Food is terrible and the place is in need of renovations. Waiters are rude, unfriendly and will stand and look over your shoulder as you tip.

I convinced my boyfriend to go to Chans today for dinner and I had to apologize to him. The hostess was rude and very impolite. The service was ridiculously poor! We went and got our first plate of food before anyone came to offer us a drink. I bit into an egg roll and the middle was cold, their chicken fried rice was burnt and had the taste of the buttom of the pot it was cooked in, the salad dressing must have been left out overnight because it was brown on top and when I mixed it up, the creamy white colour was beneath. Nothing at this buffet was any good. The water even tasted nasty. The place was filthy and the staff were constantly walking around and speaking loudly in their language. I have NEVER left a buffet hungry but after just a few minutes there, I had to get up and leave. We ended up going to McDonalds to satisfy our hunger. Please...if you are reading this DO NOT...N-O-T EVER GO TO CHAN'S. I'm all for supporting small business and thought I would give them a try instead of just going to Mandarin...but trust me..the extra cost at Mandarin is well worth it. It was a waste of money and was a complete disappointment.

I LOOOOVe Chan's Buffet! I would recommend this to anyone. I personally think it is so much more worth it than Mandarin. The service was fantastic. The washroom was top of the line and smelled lemony fresh. The waiter was young and sexy and the food was more younger and sexier. The price was amazing. Our waiter was so kind they paid half of our meal for us, and the service was like a 5 star restaurant. I would definitely come here for any occasion such as birthdays, Mother/Father's day, Christmas, Bar Mitzvahs etc. I had my high school graduation here as well and it was a blast. Chan's offered me a free DJ and paid for half the guests.

Chans Buffet is a very racist buffet to go and eat at. Me and my friends stopped going there, because they always make us pay in advance before taking our seats (We are all black teenage girls). Just because of our age and our racial background they took us to the worst possible table in the restaurant( mind you the restaurant was not even full) which was located right near the air condition and a huge glass window that caused us to all keep our jackets on for it was very much winter time. We were very upset at how poor service we were getting from our waiter. My friend asked if she could have a coke to drink and he brought to our table a can of coke and made her pay for it right then and there. I then asked for a glass of water but instead of bringing the water pitch over to our table and pouring me a glass of water our waiter just brought the water pitch on the table and left. The water was fulll of things in it that I dont believe should be in water.It was truly disgusting.At first We thought to our selves that we probably went to the restaurant on a bad day, but after telling our stories to our friends they too shared the same exact stories of lack of respect from the employees of Chan's Buffet. I will never return back to Chan's buffet every again in my life. It truly is the worst restaurant I have ever been to and made not only me, but many other people feel like they were not welcomed, and didn't deserve to be treated with respect.

I have gone there when it first opened before and it was fine. However I just went on Dec. 5/2008 and it was terrible. The place is getting run down, the washrooms were clean but needs renovating and actually the whole place needs a good renovating. I don't think they have done anything since it was the old Mandarin. Waiter was not friendly. The food containers for the buffet were nearly all empty and the tea was cold. The food was not good, not very hot. Sorry, but it better spruce up or everyone will be going to the new Mandarin on 410 and Steeles. I was absolutely angry that I recommended we go there with my family.

The hostess was very unfriendly and cold. The food was even colder... and older. Many of the items were stale. The plates were so old the glazing on them was worn off. The whole place is in major need of renovation... but I guess they can't spend money on it if there is nobody coming in... and with such lacking food, why would anyone want to come in?

This place will be out of business by the end of the year... guaranteed. It was absolutely terrible. I wouldn't ever come to this place again.

Always thought this place was pretty good, but today we were really turned off when we saw a huge cockroach crawling up the wall near us while we were eating. Our waiter noticed it and quickly grabbed it with a napkin, but at least 5 of us saw this and it ruined my appetite. Never again.

no customer service at all!!! The hostess is so rude, not very welcoming!! I am actually writing this while I am here having lunch and I will never come back and hopefully you will not eat here!!!

Usually the food is OK. Not much change to the menu though. My son and I went in one night and the food was gross. Usually the food is pretty good though. Some change to the menu would be appreciate!

this is restaurant is like a mandarin's but cheaper its so worth it eating here. also there food is fresh and bathrooms are so clean and they smelt so good my first time i went i had always wanted to come back i love it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much i would recomend this restaurant to anyone

I have eaten at most of the Chinese food Resturants and the top food for delivery is 100% hands down Chan's. They have made the odd mistake in forgetting extra items but the food is awesome. You will not get the amount of meat in your dishes anywhere else. The meal deals are the best..any 2 will feed the average 2-4 persons) They are also willing to change /exchange items in some if they are not to your liking. They are always quick and hot)
My family and my extended family all order from them. Friends form MIssissaugua come to visit and order form Chans every time they want Chinese food..they say its way better than any of the ones near their home.

we've been to chan's several times and while it isn't the mandarin, neither is the price! the food is good - there's a decent selection so vegetarians don't feel left out. it's true many of the staff - kitchen staff, that is - don't speak english but then, they are largely new to canada and don't work front-line. the servers we have met have all been very kind and, for the most part, attentive. sometimes you do have to get their attention but that's not a regular thing. the bill is often slow to appear - but i think i prefer that to places where they're handing me the bill and basically starting to clean up around me while i'm still working on my meal.

true it's not the mandarin - but neither are the prices. as always, you get what you pay for and chan's is a decent alternative to waiting in a long line with a rumbling stomach and whiney kids. i should also mention of the three buffets i investigated (mandarin's and tucker's marketplace were the other two), chan's was the only one willing to offer a discount (albeit small) for a party of 40 to 50 ppl we'll be having in march. both mandarin and tucker's charge twice and price and tucker's sounded offended that i even inquired.

This was the worst buffet I have ever been to. The food was at best warmish. Service was bad, barely understood english. The food was either slothered in what look like butter or sitting in that gooey broth.

Food is great and service is very friendly. Much better than overpriced mandarin.

Chan's is dirty and unkept. The food not as good as Mandarin. The servers are slow to bring cheque.
